Righteousness

  "...Not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith." (Philippians 3:9)

"The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree" (Psalm 92:12)

"When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices" (Prov. 11:10)

"The seed of the righteous shall be delivered" (Prov. 11:21)

The Word says we came into this world with a sin nature. Not sinners because babies don't sin. We are all born with a nature to sin. Jesus took that sin on the cross for us and when He did that is where our righteousness comes in. From Jesus. Because of what He did we are made righteous. The sin nature is still there. If we continue to renew our minds in the Word we can sin less and less.
